Mexico’s Renata Zarazua moves into the US Open main draw in Cirstea’s place.
The 34-year-old Cirstea knocked off Anna Kalinskaya, Elena Rybakina and Belinda Bencic to reach the 2023 US Open quarterfinals before bowing to Karolina Muchova.
The quarterfinal run is Cirstea’s best performance in Flushing Meadows and marked her fourth major quarterfinal appearance.
The US Open main draw starts on August 26th.
