Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova have shared major success.
The Olympic gold-medal doubles champions won’t be sharing the court next season.
Krejcikova and Siniakova are pressing pause on one of the most productive partnerships in the game and won’t play doubles together in 2024, the WTA website announced.
The surprising split comes a day after reigning US Open doubles champion Gabriela Dabrowski and former US Open singles finalist Leylah Fernandez stunned the Czech pair 7-5, 7-6(3) in the decisive doubles clinching Canada’s 2-1 triumph over the Czech Republic and first trip to the Billie Jean King Cup Finals. Canada went on to defeat Italy and capture its maiden Billie Jean King Cup championship.
Krejcikova and Siniakova, who have collected the career doubles Grand Slam as well as the WTA Finals doubles championship together, are reigning Australian Open and Olympics doubles champions, but have no plans to defend either title in 2024.
